ALOXI® is Preferred

2007 Antiemesis Clinical Practice Guidelines From the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN®)1

ALOXI - Antiemesis Guidelines
  • ALOXI® is recommended for acute and delayed emesis prevention when using moderate emetic risk chemotherapy.*
  • ALOXI is superior to other 5-HT3 antagonists for preventing delayed nausea.
  • The addition of dexamethasone improves the efficacy of the antiemetic regimen containing 5-HT3 antagonists. Ondansetron, granisetron, and dolasetron are effective in preventing acute emesis but appear to be less effective for delayed emesis. However, ALOXI is effective for preventing both delayed and acute emesis.

*NCCN Consensus Category 1: Uniform NCCN consensus, based on high-level evidence, that the recommendation is appropriate.
