What CINV medication may be right for you?

Despite progress in the treatment of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV), it remains one of the most common side effects among patients with cancer who are receiving chemotherapy.

It has been found that CINV can have an impact on a patient’s overall health. It can affect the quality of life—interfering with normal daily activities—as well as the ability and determination to complete cancer treatments. CINV-related studies have shown that healthcare professionals tend to underestimate the incidence of CINV. That’s why it’s so important to talk to your doctor or nurse about how you feel before, during, and after treatment.

There are several different drugs and therapy combinations that can reduce both the incidence and severity of CINV. Clinical trial results show that CINV may be completely prevented in 60% to more than 90% of people who receive chemotherapy.

Whether you are just beginning chemotherapy or already receiving treatment, it is important to share your concerns about CINV with your healthcare professional. Ask if ALOXI® may be right for you.
